This Privacy Policy explains how FixieJee (the “App”) accesses, uses, stores, and transmits information. FixieJee is a single-user Windows desktop application for auditing publicly accessible websites and generating local audit reports.
1. Summary
FixieJee does not require a FixieJee account and does not send your audit database, customer list, reports, notes, or tasks to a server operated by the publisher. The App stores its working data locally on your Windows device.
To perform the functions you request, the App connects to websites being audited and to certain third-party services. If you enable an external AI provider, selected website evidence is transmitted directly from your device to that provider using the API credentials you supply.
FixieJee does not include advertising, publisher-operated analytics, or cross-app tracking.
2. Information processed by the App
Depending on how you use FixieJee, the App may process:
- your display name and report-language preference;
- customer names and optional customer contact names and email addresses entered by you;
- website addresses and labels entered by you;
- audit configuration, status, dates, scores, findings, technical evidence, tested page addresses, and error messages;
- notes, remediation tasks, due dates, and audit-review status;
- generated PDF reports and local audit logs;
- the selected AI provider and model, whether an API credential is configured, and AI-generated audit results;
- Microsoft Store licence status and the time it was last checked; and
- the API key for an optional AI provider.
The content of a public website may itself contain personal information. Audit results and reports may reproduce limited portions of that content, such as visible text, headings, links, technical error messages, or contact-related page content.
3. How information is used
The App uses this information only to provide features requested by the user, including:
- organising customers and websites;
- fetching, crawling, and analysing selected public websites;
- performing accessibility, performance, SEO, security, privacy, usability, content, mobile, branding, and technical checks;
- creating audit findings, AI-assisted commentary when enabled, and PDF reports;
- maintaining local notes, tasks, history, settings, and licence state; and
- diagnosing failed audits through local logs.
The publisher does not sell personal information and does not use information in the App for advertising or profiling.
4. Local storage and security
In the packaged Windows version, application data is stored under %LOCALAPPDATA%\FixieJee, including the local database, reports, and logs. The local web service and database listen only on the loopback interface for use by the App.
AI API keys are stored in Windows Credential Manager. The local database, PDF reports, and logs are not independently encrypted by FixieJee; their protection depends on Windows account controls, device security, and any disk encryption configured by the user. Users should secure their Windows account, keep Windows up to date, and use device encryption where appropriate.
The publisher does not have remote access to locally stored information through the App.
5. Network connections and disclosures
Websites selected for audit
When you start an audit, FixieJee sends requests directly from your device to the selected website and resources used by that website. The website operator and its service providers may receive information normally included in an internet request, such as your IP address, request time, requested address, user-agent information, and other protocol metadata. Their handling of this information is governed by their own privacy policies.
You are responsible for having authority to audit the selected website and for using the App in accordance with applicable law and the website's terms.
Technical lookup services
FixieJee may send domain names, host names, or detected software package names and versions to:
- DNS resolvers configured for your Windows device or network;
- WHOIS servers and registries used for domain-registration lookups; and
- OSV.dev, used to look up known software vulnerabilities.
These services may also receive standard network metadata such as your IP address. FixieJee does not send customer contact records, notes, tasks, or PDF reports to these services.
Optional AI providers
AI features are optional and require you to select a supported provider and supply your own API key. Supported providers may include OpenAI, Anthropic, and DeepSeek.
When AI features are enabled for an audit, FixieJee may send the provider:
- the audited page address and page classification;
- a size-limited extract of visible page text;
- headings, navigation labels, detected calls to action, and summaries of form structure;
- deterministic audit findings, recommendations, measurements, scope information, and technical evidence; and
- earlier AI output when required for critique or report synthesis.
FixieJee removes scripts and selected hidden content from the page evidence, limits the amount of visible text sent, and applies best-effort redaction to common secrets and local identifiers. This cannot guarantee that all personal or confidential information present on an audited page will be removed.
AI requests go directly from your device to the provider you select. The provider processes the request under your agreement with that provider and according to its own privacy policy, security practices, location, and retention rules. The publisher does not receive these requests or responses. Do not enable AI processing for content you are not authorised to disclose to the selected provider.
Microsoft Store
Microsoft processes acquisition, payment, subscription, update, and Store licence information under Microsoft's own terms and privacy statement. FixieJee receives only the licence information needed to determine whether Store-licensed features are active and stores a local active/inactive status and check time. The App does not receive your payment-card details.
6. Legal bases for processing in the EEA
Where European Economic Area data-protection law applies and the publisher acts as a controller, processing necessary to provide FixieJee is based on performance of the agreement to provide the App and on legitimate interests in operating, securing, and troubleshooting it. Optional external AI processing occurs only when the user configures and uses that feature.
For customer records, website content, and other information that a user chooses to process with FixieJee on behalf of another person or organisation, the user is responsible for determining an appropriate legal basis and meeting any notice, access, deletion, or other obligations that apply.
7. Retention and deletion
Local information remains on the device until the user deletes the relevant record where the App provides that option, resets the App's data, or manually removes the data. Uninstalling the App may not remove data stored in %LOCALAPPDATA%\FixieJee; users who want complete local deletion should remove that folder after closing FixieJee.
Deleting a local record does not delete information already transmitted to a website operator, technical lookup service, Microsoft, or an optional AI provider. Requests concerning information held by those parties must be directed to the relevant party under its own privacy policy.
The publisher cannot retrieve or delete information that exists only on the user's device because the publisher does not receive or control it.
8. International transfers
Third-party websites, infrastructure providers, Microsoft, WHOIS services, OSV.dev, and an AI provider selected by the user may process information outside the user's country. Their own terms and privacy policies describe any safeguards used for international transfers. Users should select and configure third-party services that meet their legal and organisational requirements.
9. Children's privacy
FixieJee is a professional website-auditing tool and is not directed to children. The publisher does not knowingly collect children's personal information through a publisher-operated service.
10. Your rights and choices
You can choose what customer information and website addresses to enter, whether to configure an AI provider, and when to run an audit. You may remove the stored AI credential from the App's settings.
Depending on applicable law, individuals may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing of their personal information, and may have a right to data portability or to complain to a supervisory authority. For information held only on your device, you control that information directly. For information processed by a third party, contact that third party. Questions for the publisher may be sent to the privacy contact listed above.
11. Changes to this Policy
This Policy may be updated when FixieJee's features, data practices, or legal obligations change. The current version will identify its effective date. Material changes will be communicated through the Store listing, the App, or the website where this Policy is published, as appropriate.
