Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how NetworkJee ("the app") handles information when you use it.

Summary

NetworkJee is a local Windows network diagnostics and configuration app. It does not require an account and does not contain advertising, analytics, telemetry, or third-party tracking. The publisher does not operate a server for the app and does not receive your diagnostic results, local network scan results, reports, settings, or logs.

NetworkJee does send network traffic when it performs diagnostics, runs a speed test, downloads a public manufacturer list, changes your DNS provider, or uses a network tool at your request. The destination service or network operator can receive ordinary connection information, such as your public IP address, request time, protocol, and the data required to answer the request.

Information processed on your device

To provide its features, NetworkJee reads and processes the following information locally:

• Network adapter names, descriptions, identifiers, status, link speed, and interface indexes.
• Local IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, subnet information, gateways, DNS server addresses, and MAC addresses.
• Results from connectivity checks, ping, traceroute, TCP port tests, DNS lookups, and the Cloudflare speed test.
• IP and MAC addresses discovered through a scan of the selected local IPv4 network.
• Hostnames, IP addresses, ports, and DNS record types that you enter into the network tools.
• The computer name when a diagnostic report is created.

This information is used to display results, perform the action you request, create a local report, and restore network settings. NetworkJee does not automatically upload it to the publisher.

Local storage and retention

NetworkJee stores the following data only in the app's local Windows data area. The exact path can vary depending on how the app was installed.

Diagnostic logs

The app and its elevated helper write daily diagnostic log files. Logs can contain timestamps, app operations, error messages, exception details, network addresses or hostnames involved in an error, adapter details, and local file paths. They do not contain packet contents, browsing history, or a history of DNS queries.

Log files older than 14 days are deleted automatically when the logger starts. Cleanup is best effort, so a file that is locked or cannot be accessed may remain until it can be removed. Logs are never automatically sent to the publisher or another party.

DNS restore information

Before NetworkJee changes DNS settings, it can save a local, adapter-specific restore point. It contains the adapter identifier and interface index, the previous IPv4 and IPv6 DNS server addresses, and whether each protocol used automatic or manual DNS configuration. The restore point can remain across app restarts and is removed for that adapter after a successful restore.

MAC manufacturer data

If you update the manufacturer database, NetworkJee stores local copies of the public IEEE MA-L, MA-M, and MA-S lists. The app uses these files to match MAC address prefixes locally. They remain until replaced by a later update or removed with the app's local data.

Reports and clipboard data

Diagnostic reports are created locally. Redaction is enabled by default and replaces known values such as the computer name, MAC address, and the selected adapter's IP, gateway, and DNS addresses. Public test destinations may remain visible because they are not specific to your device.

You may turn redaction off after a warning. NetworkJee copies a report to the Windows clipboard or saves it as a TXT or JSON file only when you request that action. You control the saved file and where it is shared. Other apps may be able to read clipboard contents according to Windows behavior and their permissions.

Permissions

The app package declares internet access and private network access so it can run the network tests and local network scan described above. It also supports full-trust desktop execution. NetworkJee starts its elevated helper and displays a Windows User Account Control prompt only when an action needs administrator rights, such as changing DNS settings, renewing DHCP, or restarting an adapter.

Security

Web requests to Microsoft, Cloudflare, and IEEE use HTTPS. Other diagnostic protocols, including ICMP ping, traceroute, DNS, and a TCP port connection, use the protocol required by the selected test and are not necessarily encrypted. Local app data is stored under the current Windows user profile or app container and is not protected with separate app-level encryption.

What NetworkJee does not collect

NetworkJee does not:

• Create a user account or collect your name, email address, payment information, contacts, precise location, photos, or documents.
• Collect analytics, advertising identifiers, usage telemetry, or crash reports for the publisher.
• Record packet contents, browsing history, or a history of DNS queries.
• Sell or rent personal information.
• Automatically upload local network scan results, reports, settings, or logs.

Your choices and deletion

You decide whether to run the speed test, update the IEEE manufacturer list, scan the local network, use a network tool, change DNS settings, copy a report, or save a report. You can cancel supported long-running operations from the app.

You can remove NetworkJee's local data through Windows app reset or uninstall controls. You can also delete reports you saved and clear clipboard contents through Windows. Because the publisher does not receive app data, the publisher has no user data from the app to access, correct, export, or delete. Requests concerning data processed by a third-party service must be directed to that service.

Children's privacy

NetworkJee is a general-purpose network utility and is not directed to children. The publisher does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when NetworkJee's features or data practices change. The current version will show a new effective date.
